For 2020, i-UG and all our Donators and Visitors to our Educational Conference want to offer a huge Thank You to the NHS and all the associated care workers.

At this time of national need, we are proud to have the premier health service working to protect us.

We hope that by contributing profits from this conference to the central NHS Charities Together, the burden can be eased in a small way and we can feel that we are making a difference.

Well, there will be a jump once we have squeezed all the profits out of the event but right now, we have a healthy start to our fund-raising.

Our thanks go to all our Sponsor-donators, individual donators and, of course, the NHS.

Some special thanks should go to those sponsors that paid over-and-above the sponsorship so that additional donations could go to the fund – KFA, Fresche Solutions and M81.

This Conference

COVID-19 has certainly had an affect on so many aspects of life in the UK and around the world.  I never saw the time when the traditional i-UG conference – complete with Bacon Butties – would have to switch to a virtual, remote format in order to get our education out there; whilst still observing the Social Distancing that has been so important.

But, here we are. And amidst all this disturbance there emerges a unique opportunity.  i-UG has been linked to charities in the past but the current opportunity to contribute to the NHS that has been so important to us cannot be ignored.  This conference, supported by the Sponsors and Delegates, has combined to give us the ability to raise money for the NHS whilst we take in our education.

On behalf of i-UG, I want to thank the Sponsors who have stuck with us on this campaign.  On behalf of the Delegates, the Sponsors and i-UG, I want to thank the NHS and all the associated care workers and key workers for supporting us.  Now it’s our turn to support you.

Profits from this event are being donated to the NHS Together Charity.

About i-UG

i-UG is a not-for-profit organisation that meets up to 4 times per year for a physical conference. One of these conferences is a multi-day, multi-stream event at a conference location somewhere in the UK. In 2020, COVID-19 has presented us with a new challenge; we can’t meet at a physical conference – so we are putting on our first Virtual Conference… and here it is.

As with all our conferences, this Virtual Conference offers members and visitors the opportunity to listen to top level speakers from: IBM, Business Partners, the vendor community and users themselves and gather real information to assist in key decision making about IT and business in general. From the AS/400 through the iSeries, on through System i and POWER Systems, our members are kept up-to-date with IBM thinking and technology emergence that is relevant to their businesses. Read on…
